Corporate Marketing - Renton Manager – Marine Application Engineering

AVAILABLE: The Corporate Marine Marketing Group in Renton has an opening for a Marine Application Engineer.
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and direct application engineering business processes for Cummins recreational and commercial marine application installations.
- Develop business relationships and processes with engineering departments and their support staff; and manage day-to-day basis business relationships.
- Utilize strategic technical planning skills to assist OEMs in providing the highest overall quality and value of vessel installations for Cummins products; promoting overall marine engine delivery and installation quality consistent with the expectations of Cummins and the OEM.
- Provide engineering technical support to Cummins partners, dealers and end customers.
- Participate in new product development.
- Coordinate with marine industry manufacturers to develop engineering solutions to problems involving marine applications.
- Analyze installation/sea trial data & summarize results in technical reports.
- Liaison with factory on all technical product and application issues
- Interface with Operations group to foster support of installations beyond the sea trial period. Develop and conduct technician training for special projects.
- Assist salesmen with all technical aspects of project proposals, including presentations, estimating, specification, and feasibility.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSME or BSEE or Marine Engineering Degree preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of marine propulsion, industrial, power generation, and auxiliary application experience.
- Strong understanding of engine subsystem interaction (Air handling, fuel system, mounting, electrical, controls, drive train, cooling, and lubrication).
- Hands on experience with installing systems in new vessels or equipment as well as repowers (electrical and mechanical).
- Knowledge of boat building techniques.
- Pro E CAD experience a plus
- Experience with designers, dealers, end users, Port Engineers and vessel commissioning
